Two Suffolk County police officers were injured in an accident involving their patrol car Monday morning in Copiague, police said.

The crash occurred on Great Neck Road near the intersection of Garden Street at about 9:25 a.m.

Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers said there were two officers in the southbound patrol car when it was “struck on the passenger side by a Jeep” that was on Garden Street. The officers — one male, one female — were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither officer was identified by police.

Police said the driver of the Jeep, identified only as a male, was not injured in the accident.
