Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday in connection with the vandalism of a menorah in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk police said.

Hate Crimes Unit detectives charged the two 15-year-old Lake Ronkonkoma boys with fourth-degree criminal mischief two days after another officer discovered the damaged menorah standing in Raynor County Park on Monday.

The suspects, whose names were withheld because they are minors, were issued field appearance tickets and released to their parents. They will appear in Family Court in Central Islip at a later date.

The arrests come a day after the menorah was repaired in time to be lit in observance of the eight-day Hanukkah holiday.
