Cops: 2 teens hurt in Holtsville car crash
Two teenagers were hurt, one seriously, in an early morning car accident in Holtsville on Monday, police said.
Passenger Dennis Rugolo, 18, of Holtsville, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center with "serious head trauma," Suffolk County police said.
Police said the driver, identified as Micka White, 18, of Holtsville, suffered a broken clavicle and broken leg in the crash.
His condition was not immediately known Monday.
Police said White was driving a 1995 Toyota southbound on Blue Point Road when it struck a curb and then a tree about 300 feet south of Buckley Road at 3:35 a.m. Volunteers from the Holtsville Fire Department and the department's rescue squad responded to the scene and transported the two teens to the hospital.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
