Cops: 2 tried to use fake $100s at Walmart
Two men were arraigned Saturday on counterfeiting charges after they attempted to buy items at Walmart with fake $100 bills, police said.
Bradley Vercosa, 20, of Valley Stream, and Justin Rogers, 17, of Fresh Meadows, Queens, were arrested about 5:30 p.m. Friday at the store on Route 110 in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County police said.
Vercosa tried to buy hair mousse, and Rogers tried to buy a desktop computer, according to police. They had a combined $900 in fake bills, police said, and are both charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument.
