Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision early Wednesday in Middle Island, police said.

Suffolk County police said the crash occurred at 12:49 a.m. on Whiskey Road near Rocky Point Road.

A westbound 1993 Chevy Lumina, whose driver was identified only as a 23-year-old man from Shoreham, crashed head-on with a 2001 Jeep driven by an 18-year-old man from Coram, police said. Both drivers and a 53-year-old female passenger in the Jeep were injured in the crash, police said.

Police said two of the injured were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, while the other was taken to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson.

No one was charged in the accident, police said.
