Four women face prostitution charges after "they propositioned undercover officers with sexual acts for a fee" along Middle Country Road in Coram, police said.

The Sixth Precinct crime section and patrol officers began an investigation that led to the arrests on Nov. 4, "in response to complaints from area residents and business owners," Suffolk police said in a Monday morning news release.

Two of the women, a 43-year-old from Coram and a 34-year-old from Medford, were arrested Sunday and were being held for arraignment Monday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said. A 35-year-old from Coram and a 49-year-old from Medford were arrested Nov. 4 and remanded to Riverhead jail after their arraignment the next day, police said.

Newsday does not publish the names of men or women arrested in prostitution cases unless there are additional charges.
