Four people were injured Tuesday when a driver struck a commercial building in Village of the Branch, Suffolk County police said.

The four -- the driver and three people inside the building -- were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries, police said. as of Tuesday night, no charges had been filed and no criminality was suspected. The investigation continues.

The accident was reported to police about 4:25 p.m., police said.

The damage to the building at 300 Middle Country Rd., near Terry Road, was not immediately known, but a police spokeswoman said the building was evacuated and electrical power was turned off.

Attempts to reach the building's manager were unsuccessful.

The injured included the driver, Lyudmila Lerner of Kings Park, 75; a woman who works in the building; and a mother and her 9-year-old son.
