Three men were injured, one of them airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center, when two landscaping trucks from the same company collided Wednesday morning in Elwood, Suffolk police said.

A truck from M&K Landscaping of Huntington Station was traveling on Park Avenue near Stillwell and Brennan streets at 8:06 a.m., police said, when it stopped and was rear-ended by another M&K truck that was following.

Two of the men were pinned in the crushed cab of one truck and needed to be extricated with the "Jaws of Life" by volunteers from the Huntington Manor Fire Department, officials said.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad and the Greenlawn Fire Department Rescue Squad responded with ambulances, and treated and transported the injured. Two were taken to Huntington Hospital and one was taken to a nearby helicopter landing site, and then transported by police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

The men suffered injuries that included broken bones, but none of the injuries were life threatening, Suffolk police said.

Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Division were called to the crash scene, police said. Tickets were issued to both drivers, but no criminal charges were filed, police said.

The names of the injured and the drivers of the two vehicles were not released by police.
