Cops: 4 hurt in Orient Harbor boat crash
A boater and his three passengers were injured Sunday night when their boat collided with a buoy in Orient Harbor, Southold police said.
No one was charged in the 10:38 p.m. crash, according to police.
Police said the boat, operated by Douglas Fisher, 58, of Old Orchard Lane, East Marion, struck buoy No. 7 in the harbor, damaging the port side of the vessel. It was not immediately clear how large the craft was, but police said Fisher and three passengers were injured.
Two of those passengers, Felicia Porter, 36, and Ashley Farrell, 28, also reside on Old Orchard Lane.
The other passenger, Rachel Knowlton, 27, is from Pawtauket, R.I., police said.
All four were treated on shore by the East Marion Fire Department Rescue Squad then transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport for further treatment.
None of the injuries was believed serious, police said.
