Six people were arrested Friday after Suffolk County police conducted separate sting operations that targeted sales of alcohol to underage buyers.

Police used an underage volunteer as an agent to enter businesses intent on purchasing alcohol.

Some of the stores were chosen after police received complaints and others were picked at random, police said.

In the Fourth Precinct, police said the following store representatives were charged with a first-degree count of unlawfully dealing with a child: Matthew Burger, 20, of 7-Eleven, 362 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Commack; Brian Farrell, 21, of Hess Express, 1173 Jericho Tpke., Commack; Mary Marvin, 36, of Long Island Wine and Spirit Merchants, 1171 Jericho Tpke., Commack; and Jatinder Kumar, 34, of 7-Eleven, 7 Edgewood Ave., Smithtown.

In the Fifth Precinct, police charged Funda Bilgin, 49, of Michael's Liquor Store, 169 N. Main St., Sayville; and Jaqir Singh, 46, of Jetco Petroleum, 698 Montauk Hwy., Bayport.

The defendants were issued an appearance ticket for a future date in First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said four businesses refused alcohol sales to the minor: Coastal, at 824 Montauk Hwy., Bayport; BP Gas, 62 Montauk Hwy., Blue Point; Gasoline Heaven, 2088 Jericho Tpke., Commack; and Shell Station, 170 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Commack.
