An Amityville man wanted in Maine has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a Bangor man earlier this month, Bangor city police said Friday.

A warrant had been issued for Akeem Harris, 23, after a grand jury this week handed down an indictment in the April 9 death of Thomas Taylor, 30, authorities said.

Police said Harris was being held Friday at Penobscot County jail. His attorney in Maine, Jeffrey Silverstein, could not be reached Friday evening.

Taylor, 30, died of a stab wound that perforated his lungs and heart, said Mark Belserene, spokesman for the state medical examiner's office.

Other details were not immediately available.
