Cops: Babylon man charged with DWI after hit-run
A Babylon man will be arraigned Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after his car allegedly struck a 16-year-old bicyclist in Riverhead Friday night.
The hit-and-run accident occurred in the southbound lane of Route 105 at 10:35 p.m. Friday, police said.
The bicyclist, Juan Moreno of Flanders, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
A short time later State Police located the driver, Timothy G. Corcoran, 43, parked at a McDonald's restaurant on Flanders Road.
Corcoran was held in the Riverhead Police Department last night and his car was impounded as evidence.
