A 26-year-old Huntington Station woman walked into a bank in Kings Park Wednesday afternoon wearing a red Yankees baseball cap, reached over the counter, grabbed a handful of cash — and fled on foot.

But she didn’t get far.

An employee followed Dashona Minor, 26, from the Bank of Smithtown branch on Park Drive to the Sunlee Nails Boutique on Indian Head Road.

Suffolk County police arrested Minor inside the nail salon, charging her with fourth-degree grand larceny.

She was held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said Minor, of Tower Street in Huntington Station, walked into the bank branch at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, grabbed the money and ran.

Employees called police and gave them a description, but one of the employees followed Minor — and saw her enter the nail salon. That employee called police, who arrested Minor in the boutique.
