A Brentwood man was shot and critically injured in North Amityville Monday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Arthur Armstrong, 30, of Wilson Street, was in the courtyard of Cloverdale Garden Apartments on Great Neck Road at 4 p.m. when he was shot in the abdomen, police said.

Armstrong was transported by police helicopter to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information about the shooting call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
