Suffolk County Police on Wednesday arrested a Brooklyn man who used Facebook to proposition a 10-year-old girl who lives in Suffolk County.

Suffolk County Police Computer Crimes Unit detectives arrested John Burke, 35, after he contacted the girl through the social networking site earlier this month and asked her to engage in a sex act, police said. Burke, a friend of the victim's family, was arrested at his East Williamsburg home and was charged with disseminating indecent material to a child.

Burke is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
