An East Hampton man was caught burglarizing an unoccupied home Wednesday, exiting a first-floor window with several articles of the homeowner's clothing, East Hampton Town Police said.

Carlos A. Montaleza-Arpi, 30, of 29 Atlantic St., was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, police said. He was arraigned Thursday in East Hampton Justice Court, posted $2,000 bail and was released. He is due back in court Feb. 9.

Police said Montaleza-Arpi was leaving through the window of a home on his block when police arrested him at about 5:13 a.m.
