Cops: Busy Riverhead road reopens after accident
Middle Country Road in Riverhead has reopened, after being closed earlier due to a car accident, police said Monday night.
Riverhead police said a man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital by a Suffolk County Police Department helicopter after a single motor vehicle accident about 7 p.m. The man was alert and conscious, police said.
The road had been closed east of Edwards Avenue.
