Cops: BWI for boater who hit bulkhead
A Sayville man faces a boating while intoxicated charge after ramming his boat Monday morning into a bulkhead on the Patchogue River, Suffolk County police said.
Joseph Leon, 45, drove the boat into the bulkhead at Sandspit Marina at about 1 a.m., police said. He and a male passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Leon was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated. His arraignment information was not immediately available.
A police spokeswoman said she had no other information on the incident.
