Suffolk County's Arson Squad is investigating a Copiague car fire as a criminal act, a police spokeswoman said Tuesday.

A Nissan Maxima in front of an Earl Place residence was set on fire twice, early Monday and again at about 4 a.m. Tuesday, a police spokeswoman said.

In the Monday fire, the car was damaged; in the second fire, to which the Copiague Fire Department responded, the vehicle was destroyed, the spokeswoman said.
