Cops: Coram man dies after ATV crash
A Coram man died of his injuries Sunday night after being ejected from an ATV that he was operating on Saturday, Suffolk police said.
Gregory Jackson, 48, was pronounced dead at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, police said.
He was riding a 2006 Yamaha quad in the parking lot of his auto repair shop in Medford when he lost control of his ATV about 12:45 p.m. Saturday and crashed into a parked trailer, police said.
He was thrown off the ATV and hit his head on the pavement, police said.
The Yamaha was impounded for a safety check. Police said speed may have been a factor in the accident.
