Cops: Crash on Long Island Avenue in Deer Park injures pedestrian

A female pedestrian was transported to a hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning on Long Island Avenue in Deer Park, Suffolk County police said.
Police said the accident occurred at 6:24 a.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Police said the driver, whose identity also was not released, remained at the scene. There was no criminality.
The accident closed Long Island Avenue between Carlls Path and Irving Avenue for a few hours.
