Cops: Crash shuts part of Wolf Hill Road in Dix Hills for nearly 15 hours
A one-car crash closed Wolf Hill Road in Dix Hills for nearly 15 hours Thursday, Suffolk County police said.
A department spokeswoman said no life-threatening injuries were reported in the accident at 1:42 a.m. near Winthrop Drive.
A vehicle struck a utility pole, cracking it and downing electrical wires, police said.
The road reopened at 4:19 p.m. after emergency crews completed repairs to the pole and wires, according to a state Department of Transportation website.
PSEG Long Island reported fewer than five customers went without power during the time of the repairs, according to its online outage map.
