The death of a man whose body was found late Thursday night in a car parked in the lot of an auto repair shop in Mastic has been ruled "noncriminal," Suffolk County police said.

The age and identity of the victim were not released.

Police said the incident was reported in a 911 call at 10:06 p.m. by the man's friend and that officers responding to the scene on Mastic Road discovered the man dead.

Police said volunteers from Mastic Ambulance also responded to the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at about 11:30 p.m.
