A Deer Park bank was robbed Monday afternoon by a man who handed a teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk police said.

The teller at the New York Commercial Bank, 720 Grand Blvd., complied with the demand, police said, and the man left the bank. He was last seen heading west on Grand Boulevard about 12:40 p.m., police said.

The bank robber was described as being between 25 and 35 years old, about 5-foot-8, and of slim to medium build. He was wearing a dark knit cap, sunglasses, a brown suede jacket, blue jeans and gloves, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
