Cops: Dix Hills motorcyclist hurt in crash
A Dix Hills man was seriously injured after he was thrown from the motorcycle he was riding Saturday night, police said.
Russell, 23, of Carlls Straight Path, was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries, police said. Russell was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip by Dix Hills Rescue Company, police said.
Femia, 47, of Carlls Straight Path, Dix Hills, was not injured, police said.
Motor Carrier Safety Section responded and performed a safety inspection on the dump truck. The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
