Cops: Driver, 21, killed in LIE crash in Medford

A 21-year-old Farmingville man was killed in a one-car crash early Monday on the eastbound service road of the Long Island Expressway in Medford, police said.
Kyle Mueller was alone in the vehicle, a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when he lost control, crashed through a guardrail and struck a stand of trees 100 feet east of North Ocean Avenue at 1:08 a.m., Suffolk County police said.
The LIE's south service road was closed as officials investigated and removed debris, and reopened at 6:07 a.m., police said.
The investigation was continuing, and the Jeep was impounded for a safety check, police said.
