Cops: Driver, 24, killed in North Bay Shore

A Hauppauge man died yesterday afternoon after he lost control of his car on the Southern State Parkway in North Bay Shore and crashed into a tree, State Police said.
Witnesses said Omar Espinal, 24, was speeding and going as fast as 70 mph on wet roads when he crashed, police said.
Espinal was heading west on the parkway, just east of Exit 42, Fifth Avenue, when the accident took place about 12:40 p.m., police said.
Suffolk County fire officials said volunteers from the Brentwood Fire Department and Brentwood Ambulance responded to the scene.
Espinal was pronounced dead at the scene just before 1:15 p.m., police said, but rescuers tried to resuscitate him on the way to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
