Cops: Driver airlifted after Bayport crash

A man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital after his car overturned early Monday on Nicolls Road in Bayport, police said.
The one-car accident occurred at 2:41 a.m., Suffolk County police said.
Police closed Nicolls between Montauk Highway and Church Street until 3:45 a.m.
The extent of the injuries was not known, but police said the victim was "alert and conscious" during the airlift -- and said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
