A short police pursuit resulted in the arrest of a Deer Park man and the two passengers in his vehicle Thursday night in North Babylon, police said.
Driver Carl Chavannes, 30, and passengers Wayne Dunkley, 29, of Brentwood, and Maurice Thomas, 21, of Deer Park, were arrested after the pursuit that began on Carll's Path at 8:23 p.m., Suffolk County police said. During the pursuit, police said, Chavannes backed into one police vehicle with his 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and then hit another, damaging all three vehicles.
Police said the pursuit ended near the intersection of Woods Road and Prairie Drive.
The three men -- and two officers involved in the pursuit and arrests -- were all transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where they were treated for minor injuries, police said.
Chavannes faces charges of second-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, loitering and resisting arrest. Dunkley and Thomas each face two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, loitering and resisting arrest.
All three men were held overnight and are scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.
