Cops: Driver from Brentwood used fake ID
A Brentwood woman stopped in December for driving on the Southern State Parkway with her high-beam headlights turned on and an unrestrained child in the backseat faces a criminal impersonation charge, New York State Police said Tuesday.
Gina Reyes, 24, of 18 Leahy Ave., surrendered to police Monday at the Farmingdale barracks, according to a news release.
On Dec. 13, she was stopped by troopers as she drove on the parkway near Exit 28, Wantagh Avenue. At that time, she used the identity of a cousin, police said.
Reyes was arrested and has been charged with criminal impersonation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and several other traffic violations, police said.
She is due to appear April 7 in First District Court in Hempstead.
