A Bayport man was driving under the influence of drugs when he crashed into a Sayville home early Saturday, Suffolk County police said.

Cory Schaetzle, 33, was driving his 2011 Chevy Malibu south on Broadway Avenue about 3:15 a.m. when he lost control of his car, struck a pole and continued on into the yard of 145 Broadway Ave., police said.

He grazed the southwest corner of the house, police said. Residents called 911 and were not injured.

Schaetzle was being treated for minor injuries at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, police said.

He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and will be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip.
