Cops: Driver reports overturning car to avoid pothole

Two people suffered minor injuries when a car overturned on Route 25A in Mount Sinai on Monday -- an accident that occurred, police said, after the driver reported swerving to avoid a pothole in the road.
The single-car crash occurred near the intersection of Highland Avenue at 8:11 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
Police did not release the identity of the driver or the passenger, both of whom sustained minor injuries. Police said there was no criminality involved in the accident.
The car involved was a 2011 Toyota. Police said the driver told responding officers the crash occurred while trying to avoid a pothole on Route 25A.
