Cops: Driver's license suspended 44 times
A Bay Shore man whose driver's license has been suspended 44 times was arrested Monday on a felony charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, State Police said.
Matthew Moore, 35, was driving a blue Nissan 83 mph in a 55 mph zone east on the Southern State Parkway, near the Route 111 exit, in Islip at about 9:54 p.m., police said.
Troopers pulled over Moore, and he was arrested as they learned of his previous driving charges, police said.
Records show he was most recently arrested Jan. 17 by Suffolk County police for allegedly driving with a suspended license. He is due to appear in court March 16 on that charge.
Moore is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, speeding and other traffic violations, police said.
He was held after arraignment Tuesday pending a $30,000 cash bail.
