Cops: Driver seriously hurt in crash
Suffolk County police are investigating a one-car crash that seriously injured a man in Lindenhurst early Monday.
Rafael Rajo, 21, of Lindenhurst, was driving northbound on Wellwood Avenue at about 3:50 a.m. when his vehicle left the road, struck a curb and utility pole and overturned near the intersection of Maple Drive, police said. He was ejected from the vehicle, suffering severe head trauma.
Rajo was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he remains. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
Police ask that anyone with information about the accident call Suffolk County police's First Squad at 631-854-8138.
