Police are searching for the driver of a dark-colored sedan that struck and injured a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning near the Long Island Rail Road station in Brentwood.

Suffolk County police said the hit-and-run occurred on Suffolk Avenue at 6:18 a.m.

A male pedestrian was transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with a possible broken leg, police said. Police said the car that hit the man was described as a dark-colored sedan, possibly an Acura.
