A Dix Hills man stopped Wednesday night because he was driving with illegally tinted windows on the Southern State Parkway in Brentwood faces drug and possession charges, State Police said.

Nabil Jahangir, 24, was driving a Ford Fusion west on the Southern, just east of the Sagtikos Parkway, when he was stopped at 10:25 p.m. because the car had illegally tinted windows, police said.

During an interview with Jahangir, the trooper smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, police said.

Jahangir was found to have 7.5 grams of marijuana, a pipe containing marijuana, and three Vicodin pills in his possession, police said.

Jahangir was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance not in its original container, unlawful possession of marijuana and several traffic violations, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip next Wednesday.
