Cops: Drug charges for Hamptons driver
A Hampton Bays woman stopped Wednesday for driving with only one working headlight on Montauk Highway in Southampton has been arrested on drug-possession charges, State Police said.
Colleen Desiano, 55, was driving a Honda Civic with one headlight west on Montauk Highway at about 10:23 p.m., according to a news release.
Troopers said they noticed a "strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle" and that Desiano told them she had "just finished smoking marijuana and was going home."
Troopers searched her car and found 65 oxycodone pills, two jars containing 24 grams of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe, police said.
Desiano was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a narcotic, a felony; possession of marijuana; possession of a controlled substance not in its original container; DWI-drugs and traffic violations.
Her arraignment information was not immediately available.
