A Kings Park woman was drunk when she crashed her car into the woods off Sunken Meadow Road early Wednesday, injuring herself and a male passenger, Suffolk County police said.
Krista Sison, 25, and her passenger were in a 2003 Hyundai westbound on Sunken Meadow Road east of Kohr Road in Kings Park about 1:30 a.m. when she apparently lost control of her car and crashed into a wooded area, police said in a news release.
Sison and the passenger were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, and their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, police said.
Sison is charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was arraigned Wednesday and bail was set at $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
The car was impounded for a safety check.
Anyone with information on the accident can call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
