A Westchester man arrested on a drunken driving charge in Hampton Bays Sunday was also driving without an interlock device required following a prior DWI conviction, police said.

Michael Matica, 32, of Hawthorne, was stopped by Southampton Town police on northbound Flanders Road Sunday around 9:30 p.m. for driving without a seat belt, police said.

An officer determined Matica was intoxicated and found that Matica was only allowed to drive a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock, which the vehicle did not have installed, police said. It was not immediately clear if the car belonged to Matica or someone else.

Matica was charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as with aggravated unlicensed operation of a more vehicle, police said.

He faces arraignment Monday in Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
