An East Hampton man whose Range Rover ended up in the woods off Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays Monday faces a drunken driving charge, State Police said.

Troopers from the Riverside station were flagged down by a motorist on State Route 27 near Flanders Road, Exit 65, at about 6:32 p.m., police said.

The motorist said a vehicle was in the woods nearby, and troopers went to check the area.

When they arrived, the troopers found the driver of a Range Rover attempting to leave the scene, police said.

The driver, Julio Parapi, 32, "stumbled out of his vehicle and had difficulty standing while troopers interviewed him," according to a news release.

Troopers arrested Parapi on a charge of driving while intoxicated. His arraignment information at Southampton Town Justice Court was not immediately available.
