Cops: DWI charge for Hampton Bays driver
A Bethpage woman pulled over Sunday for first stopping and then driving onto the shoulder of Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays faces a DWI charge, State Police said.
Troopers stopped Christy Garramone, 33, of 3666 Stokes Ave., after she drove her gray Hyundai onto the shoulder of the highway near Route 24, according to a Tuesday news release.
Garramone had bloodshot, watery eyes, troopers said, and a strong odor of alcohol. She failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.
Garramone provided a breath-analyzer sample of .15 percent, police said.
She is charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic violations.
Garramone is scheduled to appear June 29 in the Town of Southampton Court, police said.
