A New York City man faces a drunken driving charge after overturning his car in Amagansett late Saturday, injuring two passengers and himself, East Hampton Town police said.

Robert D. Forman, 49, was arraigned Sunday in East Hampton Town Court on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was remanded on a cash bail of $1,000 and is due back in court on Sept. 12, according to a court spokeswoman.

Forman was driving a 2002 BMW convertible on Cranberry Hole Road, near Bendigo Road, about 10 p.m. when the vehicle failed to "negotiate a curve in the roadway, lost control, overturned and struck multiple trees," police said in a news release.

Forman was treated for minor injuries at Southampton Hospital and then charged with DWI after his release.

A front-seat passenger went to Southampton Hospital with undisclosed injuries and was in stable condition, police said.

A rear-seat passenger, who was ejected, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and also was reported to be in stable condition with undisclosed injuries, according to the news release.

Anyone with information on the crash can call East Hampton Town Police at 631-537-7575.
