Cops: DWI charge in Southern State crash
A Lindenhurst man was arrested after he drove drunk in the wrong direction on the Southern State Parkway, struck a car and left the scene Saturday morning, police said.
According to a New York State Police statement, Leston Douglas, 25, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, driving the wrong way and unlicensed operation.
Police said he was traveling eastbound in the parkway's westbound lanes east of Route 110 about 5:25 a.m., when the accident occurred. No injuries were sustained in the accident.
Douglas was held for arraignment in Suffolk County First District Court, police said.
