A drunken driver was hospitalized after his eastbound car crashed into a parked construction truck on the Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma early Thursday, Suffolk County Sheriffs said.

The crash occurred near Exit 60 at 3:14 a.m. Sheriffs said a Chrysler sedan hit the construction truck, which was parked on the shoulder.

The driver of the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center. The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, sheriffs said. The driver has not been identified.
