Suffolk County police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a Dix Hills man Sunday in East Northport.

Police said Anthony Padovano, 44, of Buckingham Drive, was driving his 2006 Ford Escape south on Larkfield Road at 2:49 p.m. when for an unknown reason he crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic near Alice Lane.

Padovano's vehicle collided with a 2005 BMW that was headed north on Larkfield. The BMW's driver, Sharon McCune, 46, of Dix Hills, and a passenger were taken to Huntington Hospital and treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. Padovano was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Padovano was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
