Cops: East Patchogue man drove drunk with teen daughter in car
An East Patchogue man was arrested early Sunday after he allegedly drove while intoxicated with his teenage daughter in the car in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town police said.
Police said Lawrence Clark, 56, was swerving and unable to keep in his lane as he drove north on Ponquogue Avenue at 12:14 a.m.
After police pulled Clark over, they determined he was intoxicated and arrested him. His 15-year-old daughter was also in the car, police said.
Clark was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger less than 16 years old, otherwise known as Leandra's Law, driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.
Clark will be arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court.
The girl was released to family members and child protective services was notified, police said. Clark's vehicle was impounded.
