Cops: East Patchogue pharmacy worker helps nab robbery suspect
He entered the pharmacy in East Patchogue wearing a mask and displayed what appeared to be a handgun, then he demanded drugs and fled with OxyContin pills, police said.
But Adam Davis, 26, of Brittany Court, Ridge, didn't get far after robbing the LightHouse Pharmacy on Montauk Highway Monday at 10 a.m., Suffolk County police said.
A pharmacy employee chased Davis, tackled him, and when a struggle ensued police officers Patrick Ryan, Robert Landgrover and Michael Campbell jumped in and subdued and arrested Davis, police said.
Davis was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of counterfeit bills and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. He was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court, Central Islip.
Police said they recovered an imitation pistol at the scene and recovered the pills, which Davis had in his possession when he was arrested.
