Cops: Exposure charge among 5 arrests
Southampton Town police arrested five people on a variety of charges Saturday.
Joanne Iannece, 30, of Massapequa, was stopped on Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays after a traffic infraction. Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle and found that Iannece possessed three different types of controlled substances in addition to marijuana and a small stun gun.
She was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Michael Ciaravino, 21, of Massapequa, sat in a vehicle on Dune Road in Hampton Bays in possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Police arrested a 23-year-old Rocky Point man after they said he was seen urinating in public on Dune Road in Hampton Bays. He was also found to possess a controlled substance, police said. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and public urination.
Police said a Queens man, 27, was seen exposing himself to passing cars while standing on Dune Road in Hampton Bays. Police charged him with exposure of a person.
A Speonk man, 29, was arrested at his home for an active bench warrant from Southampton Town Justice Court for failure to appear relating to multiple traffic violations in 2008, police said.
