Cops: Flanders man charged with DWI
A 22-year-old Flanders man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a midday Sunday crash on Brookhaven Avenue in Flanders, police said.
Victor Paredes was charged with DWI after being arrested by Southampton Town police, they said.
Police said Paredes was driving a 1994 Nissan involved in a minor accident at noon.
The responding officer determined Paredes was intoxicated -- and arrested him. Police said Paredes faces arraignment Monday in Southampton Town Justice Court. In addition, police said Paredes had an active warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior charge.
The nature of that charge was not immediately clear.
