A Holbrook man staying with friends took items from unlocked vehicles in their Stony Brook neighborhood on Thanksgiving Day, Suffolk County police said.

Paul Lewis, 20, of Holbrook is charged with four counts of possession of stolen property and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.

Lewis entered four unlocked vehicles on Barker Drive and Barnwell Lane between of 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., taking electronics and jewelry, police said.

A resident called police, and Officers Mark Grubbs and Todd Bradshaw tracked Lewis to a house on Barker Drive, where he was staying, police said.

Residents of the house turned over the stolen items, and Lewis was arrested at about 10:45 a.m.

Anyone with additional information, or who thinks they could have been a victim or can identify property, can call the Sixth Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8626.
